Kim Rowland

Kim Rowland uses bold, complimentary colors in her new series of insect themed studies in acrylic on wood. These small paintings have so much "punch" and "motion" in the colors that the tiny little critters they represent seem large and magnified. Rowland's background and experience is in art education, but she's taking a break from teaching to pursue her own creative impulses.

This page was updated August 14, 2008. We sold eleven of her paintings the first month Rowland displayed in the Funky Chicken. I am very pleased with her insect series, and the success they are enjoying in our gallery. A bird series is following and already, they are winning our collectors' hearts. These little paintings are bold, even in our gallery, where bold is a color!
